North End

There are so many reasons I love Boston, but the North End is definitely at the top of my list. It's best at night, when you can see the light shining out of the apartment windows that look out over crooked alleys and streets. Sometimes you have to walk down narrow passageways and through dimly lit courtyards to find the front doors of these brick apartments. Paul Revere's house is here, situated near a puritan graveyard. There are a lot of loud people out on the main streets with their friends, carrying boxes of cannoli from the Italian bakeries back to their cars, or the subway station. My dad and I stayed in South Boston, so we took the subway.

The pictures below taken in a square across from Old North don't really do the scene justice.

The little building in the last two shots is the library. It's so perfect.

summer fades to fall

This is a post that I put together earlier this month...just some iphone instagrams from girls' camp at the beach, the Seattle trip with Ellie and Autumn, etc. It's been a fun month- I just got back from Massachusetts on Monday with a lot of pictures and some funny stories to tell. Senior year has started, which means that there are many amazing new books to be read. And music to be played. My wrists still hate me so I'm going to leave and go find some ice...

where the wild things are

I told my mom I was going to stop blogging for a long while because of the wrist tendonitis/carpal tunnel I've developed this summer, but I just wanted to stop in and share these images that I edited a few weeks ago. Instagram has to be my camera fix these days, because I'm trying to avoid the temptation that comes after I take a bunch of good shots on my dslr! That said, I'm just as inspired as ever, and I'm hoping to really launch/expand my photo business this coming fall/winter/spring.
