Kris Killman is a person of 2 vastly varied areas. The Marion native worked a grueling twenty years in the federal law
enforcement at United States Penitentiary. Forceful and focused, Kris Killman plowed through what he tells – the belly of the beast and he retired in the year 2008, and that is young enough to relish his other side loved side – an artist.
A creative mind along with advanced photography skills have helped in Kris’ ability to click some of the adventurous places in Southern Illinois. Kris guides photography treks across the region. He mentors novice shutterbugs in digital techniques. He just love to create.
He was one of the main twenty members who begun Little Egypt Arts Association in his native place. Kris has worked as the president, vice president as well as the secretary of the organization. He was instrumental in starting the LEAA’s Artistic Lens Photographic Society.
Kris Killman’s work is often featured across Southern Illinois displays and galleries. His personality and adventurous character shines through in every piece. Kris told that he begun in earnest in the year 1990 and has been influenced by his desire to paint images around Southern Illinois region. He added that in his last photography show, he displayed straight photography, photo art, altered photos and it ranged from architecture, landscapes, wildlife as well as and portrait work. He just want the continue his work and being playful and high-quality.
